Description

Memories of Santa 1912 -- Offered elsewhere for up to $30. One of the 15 original five-inch ceramic Memories of Santa (M.O.S.) figurines, this figure is the Uncle Sam Santa. These were designed by Don Warning (1927–2003) and sold through his companies, Christmas Eve, Inc. (1983–84), and Christmas Reproductions, Inc. (1984–2002). The figures were initially inspired by his own collection of antique chocolate molds, after that he found inspiration from early chromolithographs, old post cards, antique trading cards, magazines, books, etc. There were 139 Santa figures in the collection when production ceased in 2003. It is made of earthenware and individually hand painted and may be displayed standing or hanging. This ornament had likely not been taken out of its package before I photographed it. It comes in the original package and has its original descriptive package insert. This ornament is in excellent condition and was kept in a climate controlled area. Shipping from Maryland, USA.
