A great find from a local New England estate! This scarce antique volume is over 191 years old! Originally published in 1832, this is the second printing published in 1833. In good condition overall! Original full-leather binding with gilt lettering shows wear as pictured, including rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, moderate wear to the joints (specifically the front joint; the front board is detached), general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and soiling and spotting to the page edges. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! Tight and square! The title lettering displays nicely from the shelf. Internally, this volume is in good shape as well. The front board is detached from the binding as pictured, along with the front free endpaper. Rear board remains attached. Original bookseller label affixed to the front pastedown endpaper. Former owner’s signature (Daniel Clark of Kingston, Rhode Island) in pencil visible on detached endpaper. All endpapers remain securely attached. Otherwise clean with no library markings to note. The text block of this volume is clean overall. Pages show typical age-related toning, foxing and soiling throughout , and some evidence of early exposure to moisture in the form of light damp staining in the upper margin (not perceptible until page 275), as well as some general light edge wear including corner creasing, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings.
